Just as the three young Founders decided in 1873, Delta Gammas strive to "Do Good." While the motto remains the same today, the Founders could never have envisioned how much good those two little words would inspire. As an extension of the Fraternity, the Delta Gamma Foundationwas incorporated in 1951 and exists solely for all members to work together to "Do Good" through this philanthropic, non-profit organization.
Join us in our efforts to support the Delta Gamma Foundation at a local and national level.
How Can I Help?
1) Volunteer with Nevada Blind Children's Foundation
Our chapter works closely with the Nevada Blind Children's Foundation (NBCF) to help provide blind children with services they need to be successful in life. Where DGLV is especially needed is to help, once a month, at the parents meeting, held every third Saturday at NBCF. We're tasked with entertaining visually-impaired children while their parents meet to discuss curriculum and after-school programs. If you're interested in volunteering to help at a parents meeting, please contact Leslie Jones for additional details and directions. You can read more about NBCF at www.nvblindchildren.org.
2) Collect Campbell's Labels for Education
The Campbell's® Label for Education™ program is a successful Foundation service project and our group has made a goal of collecting 1,000 labels. The labels are sent to the Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments in St. Louis. Your labels can bring much needed equipment to the Delta Gamma schools for children who are blind or visually impaired.
Send only the *UPC codes from canned labels or lids, when applicable. (*This is a new procedure. Do not clip the whole label, only the one point or five point UPC codes or lids.) Do not staple UPCs together or put any tape on them. Please send labels (and the # in your bundle) to our VP Foundation.

3) Collect Eyeglasses for the Lions Club

Lions Club International was tasked by Helen Keller to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness" and have been doing so since 1925. Delta Gammas can help by collecting old eyeglasses which will be donated to those in need. Contact Leslie Jones for more information.
4) Collect General Mills "Box Tops for Education"
Help Delta Gamma support blind schools across the country by collecting General Mills "Box Tops For Education." While the state of Nevada doesn't have a blind school that can benefit from "Box Tops," we will mail any "Box Tops" that are collected from our members to Delta Gamma Foundation. Click here to visit the website of General Mills for more information, including coupons for many General Mills products. Send any "Box Tops" you have collected to Leslie Jones (email for her address).
5) Individual Service Hours
Are you doing work or volunteering on your own with those who are blind or visually impaired? Are you giving time to the elderly or doing other community service? If the answer is yes, you are doing service hours for the Foundation! Report your hours by emailing them to Leslie Jones to receive credit for them with DGLV as well as the Foundation.
SAVE THE DATE Saturday, May 22 is the first ever Ladybug Gala hosted by Nevada Blind Children's Foundation. Many volunteers will be needed to help out at this fundraising event. If you would like to be involved with the planning of the Ladybug Gala, we could use volunteers for the planning committee. Just contact VP:Foundation Leslie Jones for additional details!
